The Duodo Palace Hotel

The Duodo Palace Hotel was great, the rooms were spacious and very comfortable, the bathrooms were huge and came with a bidet a strange and foreign invention (to me), acquiring the necessary skill to use one of these was further complicated by the fact that the taps turned toward the outside to turn on and the inside to turn off. Working out how to turn off the water whilst squatting over the bidet in this fashion lead to many puddles of water over the bathroom floor and hours of hubby's entertainment at my expense.
The consierge was very helpful.
Their internet was a bit 'hit and miss' but adequate enough for our needs.
The brochure said that from your room you will be able to see the picturesque waterways complete with gondaleers. They failed to mentioned however that you can smell the picturesque Venician waterways from your hotel room window too. Thank goodness for photography.
Having said that, the streets themselves were immaculate, the locals really seemed to take genuine pride in cleanliness and appearances.
